Repeat or Revenge? Chelsea take on Arsenal for the Community Shield at Wembley.
Premier League
champions Chelsea will face FA Cup winners Arsenal in the season’s traditional
curtain raiser, the Community Shield at Wembley. The game comes of today
Sunday, August 6th at 2pm GMT.
Chelsea will have
fewer options to their disposal as they will play without Costa, Hazard, Bakayoko
and probably Pedro due to a facial injury. However, Pedro could play wearing a
mask. Meanwhile Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez returned to training on Tuesday,
having taken an extended break after his participation in the Confederations
Cup with Chile. Coquelin and Gabriel will also miss this match due to ankle and
knee injuries respectively.
The match with feature
new signings Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette. All eyes will be on these
two to see who shines and who flops.
Arsenal who have
emerged victorious in their last eight matches at Wembley are tipped by many to
carry the day. Will this be a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final in which Arsenal
beat Chelsea 2-1? Or it will be Chelsea this time round.
In as much as I would
want Wenger’s side to win, I have a feeling Chelsea are favorites. I will go
with a 2-1 win for Chelsea.
