Self-Appraisal

One day, my dad and I went to a supermarket to get some items. As we shopped, I noticed a young man walk to a telephone booth which was at the cash counter of the market and dialed a number. I observed and listened to the conversation:

Young man(YM): “Madam, can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?”

Woman: (at the other end of the phone line) “I already have someone to cut my lawn.”

YM: “Madam, I will cut your lawn for half the price than the person who cuts your lawn now.”

Woman: “Don’t worry; I’m very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting the lawn.”

YM: (with more perseverance) “Madam, I’ll even sweep the floor and the stairs of your house for free.”

Woman: “No, thank you.”

With a smile on his face, the young man put the receiver down. I was surprised, so I decided to walk over to the man and satisfy my curiosity.

Me: “Bro wosop, sorry for not getting the job. I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to talk to my dad to offer you a job.”

YM: “No bro, it’s ok thanks.”

Me: “But you were really pleading for one, I was observing whiles you made the call”

Boy: “No bro, I was just checking my performance at the job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was talking to!”

This is called "Self-Appraisal”.
Self-Appraisal is the act of estimating or judging the nature or value of oneself. It doesn't necessarily mean you should use the same format as the young man, but once a while, sit back and observe whether you're improving or retrogressing.
I learnt great lessons from the young man; give your best in whatever you do, be real and have a great reputation such that even in your absence, people will defend you!

Give your best and you have nothing to fear! What are you waiting for? go out and shine!
